Ministry of Social Development and Family Launches Second Edition of Financial Awareness Program

Qatar’s Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Family Empowerment Department, has launched the second edition of its Financial Awareness Programme as part of efforts to promote responsible financial management across society.

The initiative focuses on strengthening awareness of financial planning, saving and responsible spending, with the broader goal of supporting family stability and improving quality of life.

Initiative Supports National Strategy 2024–2030

The programme forms part of projects linked to Qatar’s Third National Strategy (2024–2030).

Through the initiative, the ministry aims to reach different segments of society by strengthening community partnerships and cooperation with relevant organisations. The programme is designed to increase its wider social impact and encourage stronger financial practices among individuals and families.

Workshop Focuses on Family Budget Management

As part of the programme, the ministry organised a workshop titled “The Family Budget” in cooperation with the Investment and Trade Court and the Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants.

The workshop was held for employees of the Investment and Trade Court and aimed to provide participants with practical knowledge and skills to manage family financial resources and household budgets more efficiently and responsibly.

Key Financial Topics Covered

The workshop was presented by Abdulla Ahmed Al Mansoori, an accounting expert and board member of the Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Participants explored several areas of family financial management, including:

• Family financial governance

• Household budgeting

• Expense management

• Financial planning

• Financial education for children

• Saving and investment

• Responsible financial decision-making

The sessions highlighted how better financial planning can contribute to greater stability and help families prepare for future financial needs.

At the conclusion of the workshop, Buthaina Al Obaidly, Director of the Family Empowerment Department, reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to implementing initiatives that strengthen financial awareness among individuals and families.

She highlighted the importance of enabling people to manage their resources efficiently and responsibly, helping families become more financially stable and better prepared to plan for the future.
